Customer project objectives and challenges

Against a backdrop of double-digit annual growth in IoT solutions across the African continent, an international operator approached Sofrecom to define and structure the launch of its new ICT fleet geolocation offers. Their objective was to boost sales on the local BtoB market, where the market is particularly competitive, with high churn risks and increased customer dissatisfaction due to partial network coverage.

This project addressed several key challenges, such as:

  • Optimizing vehicle fleet management: TCO*, route optimization, fuel consumption tracking...
  • Improving business operations management (increased productivity through real-time visibility of available vehicles, management of vehicle maintenance schedules and rental contracts...) while promoting eco-driving among drivers.

Methodology implemented

For this mission, the Sofrecom consultant followed the following methodology:

  • Study of the local competition and benchmarking across the MEA region.
  • Creation of the offer (packages and options) and validation through internal marketing offer launch milestones (Time To Market).
  • Contracting and ordering the necessary hardware for the offer launch.
  • Contracting with the local provider responsible for installing sensors in the client’s vehicles.
