Challenge
This African operator was carrying out a programme of ongoing transformation of its information system (IS) with the aim of simplifying it, maximising its value for the company, and making it more flexible and responsive to changes in the business. The operator asked Sofrecom's IT consultants to carry out an interim audit of the project to ensure that it was in line with the defined target.
Methodology
Our experts began by auditing the existing IS. They identified the needs and expectations of the business departments. The consultants also updated the application mapping, highlighted the gaps with TAM, and identified obsolete or redundant applications.
Secondly, they described possible development scenarios and updated the IS transformation strategy. Their recommendations focused on 3 areas
- The implementation of a convergent billing solution,
- Consolidating applications with identical functional scopes,
- Improving IS interoperability.
Finally, our consultants created user guides for the main IS applications (catalogue, order, customer management).
Results
Our client now has a perfectly up-to-date IS transformation roadmap that is in line with the company's priorities. The consolidation of applications has improved operational performance and optimised OPEX. The client's IS can now make a full contribution to meeting its customer experience objectives: Sofrecom's action plan has transformed its billing-centric IS into a customer-centric one.
